Abstract:  The author, an engineer and consultant in computers and electrical engineering, presents methods of protecting computer system immunity for certain Microsoft systems. He explains and discusses viruses embedded in macros, viruses found in executable files, antivirus software and hoaxes. Figures show screens that the reader encounters when setting up macro warnings for Windows 97 and opening Windows Explorer and displaying file extensions, in addition to a listing of Web resources.
